E-mail Setup - Microsoft Outlook 2002 XP
  1. Open Outlook.

  1. From the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts.

  1. Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.

  1. Select POP3 as your server type and click Next.

  1. In the Your name text box, type your full name.
  2. In the E-mail address text box, type your e-mail address.
    For example: username@vinet.com
  3. In the Incoming mail (POP3) text box, type mail.vinet.com.
  4. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) text box, type mail.vinet.com.
  5. In the User name text box, your member ID has been inserted.
  6. In the Password text box, type your password.
    Note: This feature is optional. Leave this field blank, if you want Outlook to prompt you for your password each time you access your e-mail.
     

Warning!
Do not check the circle next to Log on using Secure Password Authentication.

  1. Click on the More Settings... button.

  1. In the Mail Account text box type Vinet.
  2. In the Organization text box, type in your organization, or you can leave this field blank.
  3. In the Reply E-mail text box, type your e-mail address.
    For example: username@vinet.com
  4. Select the Connection tab.

  1. Under Connection, check the circle next to Connect using my local area network (LAN).
  2. Select the Advanced tab.

  1. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) text box, type 25.
  2. In the Incoming mail (POP3) text box, type 110.
  3. Click OK.
  4. Click Finish to exit.

Note: Because of the 10M mailbox limit, you must complete the following steps to prevent your mail from being blocked or deleted.

  • From the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts.
  • Select View or change existing e-mail accounts amd click Next.
  • Select the Vinet e-mail account and click More Settings.
  • Select the Advanced tab.
  • Ensure that the Leave a copy of messages on server box is unchecked.
  • Click OK to save.
